skate park + playground, south golden beach

This new installation has finally been completed (mid-2018) and Mamma and Little Mister absolutely love it! He gets the choice of climbing and hanging on the gymnastics bars; or scooting, skating and running around on the skate ramps; or playing in the playground. Choices, options and favourites!

This is definitely for the more confident kids as the playground has some steep angles to climb, and the see saw is set rather high above the ground (for longer legs). But this, of course, won't stop your little ones from having a go. There is also a nest swing for the younger ones who aren't quite ready for the confidence-boosting heights of this playground.

There are mixed surfaces used within the three designated areas: a soft fall surface underneath the gymnastics bars; cement for the skate ramps; tan bark under the main playground; with grassy areas in between and around each area.

Mamma's special mentions: this playground is an easy 60m walk from the beach entrance, toilet block, water fountain and local Community Centre; as well as about 100m from the local cafe Mrs Birdy. The adjacent walking trail will lead you into nearby New Brighton.
