If there’s one thing you must do while you are hanging in Byron - it’s the walk to The Lighthouse. This rite of passage is popular with locals and tourists alike. You can start your walk from Clarkes Beach and head through the Pass, or just start at Wategos - depending on how little those legs are! You will have great views along the way - ocean, forest, cliffs and keep an eye out for turtles, dolphins and whales when in season. Make sure you check out Little Wategos Beach on the way through too (look out for the signs). Once you hit the lighthouse you will be rewarded with an epic view on the Eastern most point of Australia! Plenty of people head here for sunrise - Mamma says it is absolutely stunning.
Mamma’s special mention: Pop into Cape Cafe if you need a bite after your big walk! Or if you keep following the Cape Byron Walking Track, stop at The Pass Cafe and replenish yourself before your epic return to the car!
