When it comes to little legs and long walks, you want some bang for your buck. The Three Sisters Lookout at Broken Head is just that - a relatively short 1.6km return walk which brings you to this magical spot. The story of the three sisters comes from the Dreamtime story of the Bundjalung People. One sister became caught in a strong current, and then the other two were also swept away trying to save her. It was actually a warning for the tribes children not to head into this treacherous but beautiful water. The story still resonates with kids today going by Mamma’s kids - and the beauty of this spot left them deep in thought. Bring a picnic on those not so windy days as there is a lovely grassy area to sit. There are plenty of stairs and some steep drops, so watch the young ones. Spotting bush turkeys and the odd chance of spying a sea turtle in the water is also a great way to keep them entertained on the walk too.
Mamma’s special mention: There is a kiosk at the caravan park for some treats and ice cream, and Broken Head beach is right here for a splash!
