Mamma has found that playgroups are a great place to catch up with other local mammas and for the kids to explore new friendships and activities.
Mamma loves that every week there is a different focus, but there are activities that the kids can return to again and again, like playdough, bubbles, toys, role playing, story time and group singing. The facilitators, Simon and Ella, are led by the children with special requests of stories or Simon on his guitar! They both move through the group, catching up with each of the parents and engaging with the kids during the sessions. This is such a great playgroup to attend each week.
The Family Centre is a community-owned, social purpose organisation that strives to increase social value in the community. They host a number of family orientated programs throughout the Ballina, Byron and Tweed shires.
Mamma’s special mention: If the kids have the energy to keep playing, the skate park and playground is just next door. Plus the beach! And if you are hungry, Mrs Birdy is one block away for tasty burgers and pizzas.
